Welcome To The Website Of GROW In America

GROW is an international mental health movement with a network of member-run support groups in four different countries, including the USA, Australia, New Zealand and Ireland.  GROW in America is fully developed in Illinois and New Jersey.  It also has a small core of groups in Alaska.

GROW is organized, friendly help.  It is based on mutual-help groups, friendship, leadership and mutual education. People come to GROW with diverse problems in living, such as mental health issues, emotional troubles, or difficulty coping with grief, loneliness, anxiety or stress.

Groups meet weekly for approximately two hours, and vary in size from 3 to 15 members.  A standard format is followed at meetings; this enables any member to lead the group and ensures that meetings are both supportive and productive.

Beyond the weekly meetings, group members extend friendship to one another and participate in community-building events such as social activities and leadership training.

GROW groups are anonymous, confidential and voluntary, and there are no fees or dues.  A person becomes a member by consistently following GROW methods and objectives.

GROW is open to people of all backgrounds, cultures and life experiences. It is nondenominational and welcomes individuals of all beliefs. Most important in GROW is belief in persons or what we call, GROW’s Essential Spirituality.
